Protein is more than just for muscle growth. Yes, your body uses protein to build and repair tissues. But you also use protein to make enzymes, hormones, and other body chemicals. Protein is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood. It is a vital macronutrient.
The standard American diet is generally low in protein. I really encourage you to prioritize your protein during this program.
