How to navigate social situations.
If you are at a work party, family dinner, or other social gathering where you don’t have your planned food, my advise is:
Be Selfish.
Be selfish with the good stuff. Chances are, there is some sort of meat and vegetable. Don’t be afraid to pile up your plate with the good stuff- you’re not eating all the breads, chips, cookies, cakes.
When I’m at parties or dinners, I usually make a big salad or veggie plate and have plenty of meat.
Get full on the good stuff and then get so engaged in the PEOPLE that you’re not so engaged in the desserts.
